Taraba State was created on 27 August 1991, during the regime of former president General Ibrahim Babangida, with its capital at Jalingo Taraba State shares boundary in the west with Nasarawa State and Benue State, northwest with Plateau State, north with Bauchi State and Gombe State, northeast by Adamawa State, east and south with Cameroon. The current governor is H. E. Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku who was elected under the People’s Democratic Party together with his Deputy, Haruna Manu. Rt. Hon.
