Ondo Stated was created on February 3, 1976, during the regime of former President General Murtala Mohammed (Late) with Akure as the state capital. Ondo State shares boundaries with Ekiti State to the north, Kogi State to the northeast, Edo State to the east, Delta State to the southeast, Ogun State to the southwest, and Osun State to the northwest. The current governor is H.E Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu together with his deputy Hon. Agboola Ajayi elected under the All Progressive Congress (APC). Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun is the Honorable speaker State House of Assembly.
