Niger State was created on 3 February, 1976 during the regime of former Late president General Murtala Mohammed with Minna as the capital city, Niger state shares boundary with Kebbi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kogi and Kwara State. The current governor is H.E. Abubakar Sani Bello elected under the All Progressive Congress together with his deputy Ahmed Muhammad Ketso. Hon. Ahmed Marafa is the Honorable Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
