Anambra State was created on 27th August, 1991 during the regime of former President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida with the capital at Awka. It shares boundaries with Delta, Imo, Rivers, Enugu, and Kogi State of Nigeria. The current Governor is H.E. Charles Chukwuma Soludo who was elected in 2021 under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) together with his deputy Dr. Onyeka Ibezim. Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor is the Honorable Speaker of the House of Assembly.
