Adamawa State was created on 27th August, 1991 during the regime of President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida with the capital at Yola. It shares boundaries with Taraba, Borno and Yobe States of Nigeria. The current Governor is H.E. Ahmadu Umar Finitiri who was elected 29th May, 2019 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) together with his deputy Hon. Crowder Seth. Hon Minjinyawa Kabiru is the Honorable Speaker of the House of Assembly.
