Nasarawa State was created on 1 October, 1996 during the regime of former president Late Gen. Sani Abacha. It shares boundaries with Kaduna, Kogi, Benue, Plateau and Taraba State of Nigeria. The current governor is H. E. Abdullahi Sule who was elected under the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Emmanuel Agadu Akabe as his deputy. Ibrahim B. Abdullahi is the Honorable Speaker of the House of Assembly.
