Kebbi State was created on 17 August, 1991 during the regime of former president Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida with its capital in Birnin Kebbi. It shares boundaries with Sokoto, Niger, the Republic of Benin And the Republic of Niger. The current Governor of Kebbi State is H. E. Senator Abubakar Atitu Bagudu who was elected on 29th May, 2019 under the All Progressive Congress together with his deputy Hon. Samaila Yombe Dabai. Hon Abdulmumini Kamba is the Honorable speaker of the State House of Assembly.
