Gombe state was created on 1st October 1996 under the regime of former President Late Gen. Sani Abacha with the capital at Gombe. It has boundaries with Borno, Yobe, Taraba, Adamawa, and Bauchi State of Nigeria. The current Governor is H.E. Yahaya Inuwa Mohammed who was elected on 29th May, 2019 under the All Progressive Congress (APC) together with his deputy JATAU Manassah Daniel. Mr. Ibrahim Abubakar is the Honorable Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
